  • The industry has many unfilled jobs.
    9,290 jobs available in 1996 - 10,370 expected by 2005.
  • Beginning salaries from $14,000 to $18,000 a year.
    Average for South Carolina $19,000 to $40,000 in 1997, depending on experience.
  • No four year degree required.
    One year Certificate or two year Degree.
  • Work hour flexibility in many cases.
  • Wide range of careers.
    Communications equipment technician, electrical engineer, general maintenance technician, power plant operators and microprocessor and programmable logic controller technicians to name a few.
